There is no entry fee, but to cover costs (insurance, sound, awards, food, permitting, administration and so forth), this year’s event is being made possible by generous contribution, so far, from (list in formation)

• Bren Transportation Corp
• Henry Marine Services
• Reinauer Transportation
• Portland Tugs
• Miller’s Launch
• Kosnac – K-Tugs
• Others needed…

If you’d be willing to contribute, please let me know, but it’s strictly voluntary. Checks should be made to the Working Harbor Committee (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit) at the address listed below. Contributions are for expenses only and any funds in excess will be banked to be used for next year’s event.

Pier 84

Pier 84 is a brand new recreational park pier at West 44th Street, North River. It’s one pier south of the event’s traditional location at the Intrepid Sea*Air*Space Museum. The pier is being provided by the Hudson River Park Trust and they will be concerned about damage. The Working Harbor Committee will provide insurance for the event (one of our major costs) but that will not relieve tugs from any responsibility for damage. There are fender piles but they are not industrial grade and the Trust requires that any vessel tying up to the pier have additional soft fendering. If anyone can bring additional Yokahama or similar type fenders, that would be great.

The ties ups at noon will take place about 3 hours before low water which is why we moved the event up timewise this year. We will work out a docking plan that takes into consideration vessel’s drafts. Best water is on the north side of the pier. More tidal info to follow.

Your Vessel(s)

You may not know yet which tug or tugs will be able to participate this year, but if you do know, or as soon as you do, we’d like to know the following for each tug:  Vessel name, LOA, Draft, HP (total), Owner, Type, Year Built.

If you don’t know, we’ll register tugs as they arrive before the parade as we have in the past.
